ℙ𝕒𝕝𝕒𝕣𝕠𝕟𝕘 𝔹𝕚𝕔𝕠𝕝 𝟚𝟘𝟚𝟞 𝕠𝕗𝕗𝕚𝕔𝕚𝕒𝕝𝕝𝕪 𝕠𝕡𝕖𝕟𝕤 𝕦𝕡 𝕥𝕠𝕕𝕒𝕪

 

𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘇𝗽𝗶 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝗮𝘆 – The biggest regional sporting spectacle featuring thirteen divisions unfolded earlier at the BU Athletic Oval, Legazpi City.

 

Close to 10,000 athletes, coaches and officials converged in this weeklong sporting event which will run today up to March 7, 2026. The jam-packed venue was filled with cheers from the delegates and the spectators alike.

 

Dr. Gilbert Sadsad, DepEd Regional Director , in his speech, emphasized that “It’s easy to achieve your goals if you will just do your best together with your respective coaches”. He further pointed out sportsmanship and integrity while playing is the utmost attribute by a player.

 

The Guest of Honor and Speaker, Hon Alfredo Abaroa Garbin, Jr. pointed out during his talk that “sports is part of nation building adding that sports will serve longer in practical life after this weeklong games and in real life, progress is never about being solo but working methodically with a group”.

 

Another highlight of the Opening program was the lighting of the ceremonial torch, which was carried by the Pambansa Medalists of last year. The chosen athletes carried the torch around the oval and lighting it eventually to formally signal the opening of the Games.

 

Before the program concluded, a colorful fireworks display was observed, much to the delight of the attendees.
